The Art Gallery of South Australia boasts one of the finest art collections in Australia. The gallery was established in 1881, and features a range of Aboriginal Western art, Asian and European art. Several permanent exhibitions are on display, as well as some changing exhibits.
Ayers Historic House is now part museum and part restaurant. It was once home to Sir Henry Ayers, an early South Australian Premier.
The Migration Museum is located within Adelaide’s Destitute Asylum. Nine galleries are held within the museum that honour the bravery of people who have taken the "risk of a lifetime" and immigrated to Australia. Exhibits also look at national identity, national origins and more. Settelemnt Square, in the museum courtyard, is dedicated to all migrants.
